Our Work.
What We Do
Bringing people together
to end poverty for good
At the Hon. Peter Wandera Foundation, we are committed to transforming lives and building stronger communities through a range of impactful initiatives. Our work focuses on addressing the most urgent needs of underserved communities while empowering individuals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Guided by our core values of integrity, compassion, and collaboration, we actively work across several key areas:
Education
We believe that education is the cornerstone of progress and empowerment. Through our education programs, we provide scholarships, learning materials, and mentorship to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to quality education and the opportunity to build a better future.
Healthcare Access
Health is a basic human right, and we are committed to improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations. We organize medical camps, provide essential health supplies, and support individuals in need of critical medical interventions. Our focus is on reducing barriers to healthcare and ensuring that families receive the care they need to live healthy, productive lives.
Youth Empowerment
The youth are the future, and our foundation is dedicated to nurturing young talent and fostering leadership. We run sports and mentorship programs, including the Lenana Football Academy and Utawala Sprinters Club, where we engage young people in activities that build discipline, teamwork, and resilience. By investing in their potential, we are helping to shape the next generation of leaders.
Economic Empowerment
We believe in the power of entrepreneurship and economic independence to lift families out of poverty. Through our economic empowerment initiatives, we provide skills training, small business support, and financial literacy programs aimed at helping individuals and families generate sustainable incomes. Our focus is on creating opportunities for self-reliance and long-term prosperity.
Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Aid
In times of crisis, we are there to offer a helping hand. Whether it’s floods, food shortages, or other emergencies, the Hon. Peter Wandera Foundation responds quickly to provide relief through food donations, clothing, and other essential supplies. Our recent work in Ngando Ward, providing relief to families affected by floods, is just one example of how we step in to support our communities in times of need.
Community Development
Building strong, resilient communities is at the heart of what we do. From infrastructure projects to environmental sustainability programs, we work alongside local leaders and organizations to identify and address community-specific challenges. Our goal is to create a lasting impact by fostering a sense of ownership and partnership with the communities we serve.
Our Impact
50,000 people, One Community
Through these programs, the Hon. Peter Wandera Foundation has touched the lives of countless individuals, empowering them to overcome challenges and build better futures. Our approach is holistic and sustainable, ensuring that our efforts create long-lasting change.
We are committed to continuing our work with integrity, compassion, and a deep belief in the potential of every person and community. Together, we can achieve more—join us in making a difference!
